Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations to assess clients' psychological, emotional, and behavioral concerns.

• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, outlining clear goals and interventions that address their unique needs.

• Facilitate individual counseling sessions and group therapy, creating a supportive atmosphere that encourages open communication and healing.

• Monitor and document client progress through regular updates and notes, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to support their recovery.

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care.

• Assist in the management of referrals to appropriate services and follow up on client care, particularly for those requiring hospitalization.

• Educate clients and their families about mental health conditions and coping strategies, helping them navigate challenges while fostering resilience.

• Engage in crisis intervention when needed, identifying immediate safety concerns and developing action plans to support clients in distress.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our center serves a diverse patient population, including individuals, couples, families, and groups facing a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety disorders, depression, substance use disorders, and relationship issues. You will have the opportunity to work with clients from different backgrounds and ages, helping them to confront and overcome their challenges in a supportive environment. Your role is instrumental in promoting mental health awareness and improving the quality of life for our clients.

Qualifications\n

• Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York.

• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).

• Strong proficiency with electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of client care.

• Demonstrated experience in mental health counseling with a focus on evidence-based practices.

• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively engage clients, families, and team members.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working within outpatient settings or community mental health environments.

• Knowledge of the latest best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

• Experience addressing complex behavioral health issues, including co-occurring disorders and trauma-informed care.

• Understanding of pharmacology and side effects for medications commonly prescribed to clients.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The compensation for this position is competitive, with a salary range of USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, coupled with a sign-on bonus.
