About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director for its Hampton Roads Chapter. The successful candidate will be the senior-most leader of the Chapter, responsible for local strategy, sustainable revenue, community impact, and team performance. This role demands a high-capacity, externally focused executive with a proven track record in strategic partnerships, six-figure fundraising, and cross-functional coordination. The Executive Director will lead the Chapter's full operational portfolio, including staff, volunteers, budget, and community partnerships, and must ensure that the organization's mission is delivered with excellence, inclusion, and measurable outcomes. Key responsibilities include fundraising and revenue leadership, executive leadership, chapter operations, advisory board and stakeholder engagement, community building, and brand stewardship. Applicants for the Executive Director position should have a Bachelor's degree or 7+ years' experience in community development, nonprofit leadership, or strategic partnerships, with at least 5 years' of management experience. The role requires a mission-driven mindset, exceptional executive communication skills, and the ability to work effectively across diverse groups, cultures, and sectors. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to secure significant philanthropic gifts, experience in managing an advisory board, and a strong organizational management capability. A deep understanding of military culture and the lived experience of military families is highly desirable, as is experience with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce. The Executive Director must be a bold thinker, a fast mover, and a smart collaborator, ready to make a meaningful impact on the lives of military families.
