Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this position is responsible for supporting the Accounting Department's daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks and activities. Within the Accounting Department, the Staff Accountant must meet tight deadlines and assist with a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, accounting functions, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should be proactive and contribute to maintaining and improving the financial reporting process to be successful in this role. Important Notice: Eligibility Requirement: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. The company does not provide visa sponsorship or accept candidates requiring sponsorship.ResponsibilitiesPrepare monthly journal entries and month-end reconciliations for various accountsInterface with other departments to verify transaction report data and issuesMonitor vendor accounts and review the A/P aging scheduleMaintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accountsAssist in compiling check batches and setting up payments for approvalWork directly with Controller and Assistant Controller on various department projects as neededEnsure all financial reporting deadlines are metAssist in preparing documentation for external auditorsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance2-3 years' work experience concentration in accountingAbility to read and analyze financial reportsDetail-oriented with strong research, technical, analytical, and organizational skillsAbility to multi-task with an energetic and teamwork-oriented work styleAbility to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and perform under demanding timelines and pressureProficient in Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
