Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to evaluate each student's unique mental health needs, utilizing standardized screening tools and clinical interviews.

• Deliver individualized short-term therapy sessions as well as crisis intervention strategies to assist students facing a range of psychological concerns, including anxiety, depression, and academic stress.

• Facilitate therapeutic group sessions and workshops tailored to enhance students' emotional resilience, personal development, and coping skills.
\n
• Collaborate with campus personnel - including academic advisors and student organizations - to create a holistic and supportive environment for all students.

• Participate in outreach initiatives that promote mental health awareness across campus, such as wellness fairs and seminars.

• Maintain detailed and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal guidelines governing mental health practice.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The primary client demographic consists of college students navigating a wide array of life transitions and challenges. These include managing academic pressures, personal relationships, and identity exploration. Qualifications\n

• An active, unencumbered license in Virginia as a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.

• A solid understanding of the unique mental health issues that affect college students, along with the capacity to provide culturally competent care.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that foster relationships with students and facilitate teamwork among diverse campus stakeholders.

• Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities and brief therapy models that are particularly effective in a university setting.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing a diversified caseload effectively.
