The Sous Chef plays a vital role within the culinary team, supporting kitchen operations by overseeing food preparation and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. This role involves regular interaction with customers, coordinating with staff, and contributing to menu planning as needed. The Sous Chef ensures smooth kitchen workflows through effective inventory management, ordering supplies, and supervising team members to deliver excellent dining experiences.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food to meet quality and presentation standards
- Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate daily activities
- Maintain quality control and health & safety compliance
- Manage inventory and order supplies with moderate responsibility
- Train and develop kitchen team members
- Coordinate kitchen operations and workflow
- Implement waste management practices
- Interact regularly with customers to ensure satisfaction
- Contribute to menu planning and updates as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in culinary arts
- Skilled in food preparation and kitchen management
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Experience in inventory management and ordering supplies
- Strong team leadership and time management skills
- Creative and effective communication abilities
