Business Development Representative – Carteret, NJ Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world’s top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Business Development Representative to join our Caleb Brett team at our Carteret, NJ facility. Intertek Caleb Brett provides specialized cargo inspection and analytical assessment services to the oil and gas, chemical, and other commodities markets. Our customers receive independent inspection and testing with industry-leading customer service. Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing sales team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for existing and potential clients, playing a critical role in generating new business opportunities. Shift & Schedule 8 am to 5 pm EDT, Monday through Friday, with occasional nights and weekends. Successful hire is expected to work at least one day per week in office. Travel This position will travel at least 90% of the time. Salary & Benefits Compensation consists of a base salary and competitive sales incentives. Responsibilities Marketing and selling of inspection and laboratory testing services. Representing the company to clients and on business occasions such as trade shows. Supporting sales management plans by maintaining effective customer relations and ensuring continued market penetration and profitability. Making in-depth calls to end users to achieve sales objectives. Identifying and evaluating possible new markets and new customers for existing products. Identifying and evaluating possible new products that fit our capabilities related to issues such as pricing and product availability. Evaluating and reporting customer feedback; resolving customer service-related issues. Generating contracts, quotes, and orders for customers as required, utilizing internal business processes. Providing input for sales forecasts (quarterly/yearly). Maintaining a monthly sales activity log through client tracking system. Reviewing pricing of products as required and discussing client feedback relative to the industry. Participating in the development of quality marketing materials. Implementing customer‑specific action plans. Traveling to visit customers and industry events. Introducing new products and services to accounts within the Caleb Brett division and to other divisions. Developing new customers and performing other tasks as assigned by the Manager. Performing other work as required. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with a reliable driving record. Preferred Requirements & Qualifications 2+ years of petroleum logistics or sales experience. Proficiency with Microsoft applications including PowerPoint and Publisher. Self‑starter with excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, time‑management, and selling skills.
