Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct detailed evaluations to assess the severity and frequency of mood disorder symptoms, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of each client's unique situation.

• Develop customized treatment plans that are aligned with client goals, preferences, and assessed needs, adapting as necessary to maximize therapeutic effectiveness.

• Implement a variety of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to address mood disorders effectively.

• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatment options, and essential self-care practices to empower them in their recovery journey.

• Continuously monitor client progress, documenting outcomes, and adjusting treatment strategies in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and medical professionals.

• Stay informed about the latest research in mental health and therapeutic techniques, applying new findings to enhance client care.

• Maintain precise and confidential client records, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities, as well as contribute to team discussions and case consultations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be individuals grappling with mood disorders, including varying degrees of depression, anxiety, and mood-related challenges. Many clients may come from underserved communities, including homeless individuals, refugees, and survivors of domestic violence. Your role is crucial in offering them a safe space, helping them navigate their emotions, and providing evidence-based strategies for coping and recovery.

Qualifications\n

• Active and unrestricted LMFT licensure within the state of New York.

• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
