Full-Time Physical Therapist - Rehabilitation Facility

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team at Back On Track Orthopedic Center in Portsmouth, Virginia. This full-time role involves providing high-quality rehabilitative care to patients dealing with a range of orthopedic conditions. Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility, where our team collaborates to deliver comprehensive care. Our facility features advanced equipment and a supportive atmosphere that fosters teamwork and effective communication among staff. You will work a 40-hour week, with variable weekends, providing flexibility to manage both patient care and professional responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients to determine functional limitations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide consultations for healthcare providers regarding patient care, ensuring seamless communication and continuity in treatment.
• Maintain high standards of patient interaction, respecting all backgrounds and upholding our customer service ethos.
• Document evaluations and treatment progress in both written and electronic formats, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team and healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in community outreach and educational programs to promote health and well-being.
• Supervise and mentor assigned support staff, guiding them through patient interactions and treatment procedures.
• Stay current with best practices through ongoing professional development and continuing education opportunities.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will focus on a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions. These patients often face unique challenges, and your expertise in physical therapy will be pivotal in helping them regain mobility and independence. You will work with patients of all ages and backgrounds, providing care that addresses their specific rehabilitation needs with empathy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from an accredited program.
• A current and valid state license to practice physical therapy.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in word processing and other computer skills relevant to documentation and patient management.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with prior experience in orthopedic rehabilitation, knowledge of treatment modalities specific to musculoskeletal disorders, and familiarity with electronic health record systems will be given preference. Experience in community-focused rehabilitation practices and a background in mentoring or supervising students or staff can also be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
