Our state-of-the-art, 5000 square feet sports medicine facility, equipped with the latest technology and treatment modalities, enables us to deliver top-notch therapy services. Our team consists of two experienced physical therapists and a physical therapist assistant (PTA) who are committed to fostering an environment of collaboration, support, and excellence.

Work Environment

This position is onsite at our rehabilitation facility located in Portsmouth, VA. You will be working in a professional and supportive atmosphere, engaging closely with colleagues as well as patients in a fast-paced setting that focuses on orthopedic conditions. Your schedule will be Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a routine that emphasizes work-life balance while meeting patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and understand the individual goals and needs of patients, tailoring treatment strategies accordingly.
• Maintain a consistent patient load of one patient per hour to ensure focused, quality interactions.
• Utilize your prior experience in orthopedic outpatient care to develop and implement effective care plans.
• Optimize treatment outcomes through cost-effective interventions aimed at enhancing mobility and functional capacity.
• Encourage non-pharmacological approaches by minimizing reliance on medications and emphasizing non-surgical alternatives.
• Create and adapt fitness and wellness programs that align with patients' unique health requirements.
• Deliver empathetic and evidence-based care, motivating patients through recovery to improve their physical abilities.
• Promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, helping patients enhance strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
• Collaborate actively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Monitor patient progress, evaluate treatment effectiveness, and maintain clear communication with patients and their families.
• Document all patient care services provided accurately and timely in compliance with organizational standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your focus will largely be on patients covered by private medical insurance, allowing you to work with a diverse population that includes those recovering from surgeries, sports injuries, and various orthopedic conditions. Your role will greatly influence their journey to improved functional independence and overall health.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
• Must be a licensed Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia, specifically Portsmouth.
• No board actions or disciplinary measures should have been taken against your license.
• Strong manual therapy skills and proficiency in developing targeted exercise regimens.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) software, such as WebPT, with an ability to navigate efficiently.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience specifically in orthopedic outpatient care settings is highly desirable.
• Experience in implementing innovative and patient-centric treatment methodologies.
• Ability to lead workshops or presentations on wellness and rehabilitation programs.

Compensation and Benefits
