Full-Time Orthopedic Physical Therapist for Outpatient Practice in Portsmouth, VA

Adventist Physical Health Rehabilitation is actively seeking a committed and licensed Physical Therapist to join our team in Portsmouth, Virginia. This full-time role is centered in an orthopedic outpatient setting, where you will play a critical role in guiding patients to regain their mobility and enhance their quality of life. Work Environment

This position is based onsite at our modern rehabilitation center in Portsmouth, VA, where teamwork and collaboration define our culture. You will be working alongside a dedicated team of two experienced physical therapists and one physical therapy assistant (PTA). Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule while ensuring ample time to invest in each patient.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients' physical conditions and establish clear and achievable treatment goals based on their unique needs.
• Manage a patient case load, dedicating individualized attention to each patient, with an optimal 1:1 treatment ratio per hour.
• Implement evidence-based treatment programs that promote rehabilitation while minimizing reliance on medications and advocating for non-surgical alternatives.
• Develop customized care plans incorporating a variety of therapeutic techniques and exercises suited to each patient's recovery journey.
• Monitor patient progress meticulously and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Document all evaluations, treatment plans, and patient interactions in accordance with compliance standards using electronic medical records (EMR) systems, specifically WebPT.
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, sharing insights and treatment strategies to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Engage and motivate patients throughout their therapy sessions to encourage continued progress and foster a positive rehabilitation experience.
• Promote health and wellness by designing fitness and rehabilitation programs that boost strength, flexibility, coordination, and overall well-being.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population consists primarily of individuals recovering from orthopedic injuries and surgeries. Many of our clients seek intervention for sports-related injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, or chronic pain management stemming from musculoskeletal disorders. Each patient presents unique challenges, and you will be directly involved in their rehabilitation journey, allowing you to make a meaningful impact in their lives.

Qualifications

• Valid Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of Virginia with no disciplinary actions against your license.
• Strong manual therapy skills and familiarity with developing effective, patient-specific exercise regimens.
• Proficiency in utilizing EMR software, specifically WebPT, to document and track patient care accurately.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills that enable you to build rapport with patients and collaborate efficiently with colleagues.

Preferred Experience

Ideally, candidates will have experience specifically in orthopedic outpatient care settings. Familiarity with treating a diverse range of patients and their respective challenges will empower you to provide effective assessments and interventions.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 90,000 to USD 110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
