General Surgeon Opportunity

Our organization is on the lookout for a General Surgeon to become part of our esteemed surgical team located in Mason City, IA. This vibrant and high-volume practice is equipped with advanced technology and provides a comprehensive range of surgical services.

Opportunity Highlights

• Collaborate with a team consisting of 3 General Surgeons, 1 Acute/Trauma General Surgeon, and 2 Physician Assistants.
• Engage in a hybrid model that combines General and Acute Trauma Surgery, featuring both elective procedures and trauma care.
• Perform a full spectrum of surgical procedures, including laparoscopic, open, robotic surgeries, endoscopy, and provide consultations in the clinic and emergency department.
• Enjoy scheduled block operating room time.
• Utilize 2 DaVinci XI Robots for advanced surgical techniques.
• Participate in on-call duties approximately 7-8 days per month.
• Work with an Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC.

Benefits & Incentives

• Guaranteed base salary of $462,000 per year for the first two years, with production-based compensation starting in the third year.
• A recruitment incentive of $100,000.
• Relocation assistance of up to $15,000.

• Generous paid time off: 34 days while on base salary and 40 days when on production.

Qualifications

• Board Certified/Board Eligible; must achieve board certification within three years of eligibility.
• We encourage applications from H1B and J1 visa candidates.
• All offers are subject to successful completion of reference checks, background verification, pre-employment physical, and drug screening.
• A degree from an accredited medical or osteopathic school is required.
• Completion of a relevant residency program demonstrating competency as a physician.
• Must be eligible for medical staff privileges at our facility.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Possession or eligibility for a physician license in the State of Iowa, along with the Iowa Controlled Substance Certificate and Federal DEA Certificate.
