Emergency Medicine Position Overview

Join our organization at a Level III Trauma Center, where we handle approximately 35,000 patient visits annually. Our full-service hospital operates around the clock, featuring a dedicated Hospitalist program, air medical and ambulance services, as well as advanced imaging capabilities including CT and MRI within the department. Each room is equipped with bedside ultrasound and point-of-use supplies.

We provide 42 hours of physician coverage daily and serve as a tertiary center with a robust network of over 300 physicians and specialists. This allows us to manage a wide range of cases in-house, including:

• Trauma Surgery
• Neurosurgery
• Cardiology
• Gastroenterology
• ENT
• Pediatric Hospitalists
• OBGYN
• Pulmonary/Critical Care
• Neurology
• Infectious Disease
• Orthopedic Surgery
• Vascular Surgery
• Anesthesia
• Radiology

We only transfer patients out when absolutely necessary, allowing you to practice at a single location. Additionally, this role offers teaching opportunities for residents, medical students, and PA/ARNP students.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a hospital-employed position, which includes a comprehensive benefits package valued at over $65,000. The compensation structure is as follows:

• Base Salary:
  • $471,265 per year ($251/hour) for Day Shift
  • $490,116 per year ($261.81/hour) for Night Shift
• Extra Shift Bonus:
  • $276.92/hour for Day shifts
  • $301.09/hour for Night shifts
• Recruitment Bonus: $100,000
• Moving Allowance: Up to $15,000
• Annual CME Allowance: $6,000
• Employer-Paid Liability Insurance and Tail Coverage
• Benefits commence on the first day of employment, including health, dental, vision, life, and both short-term and long-term disability coverage.
• Retirement Options: 403(b) plan with employer contributions and matching, plus an optional 457(b) deferred compensation plan.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible (must achieve certification within three years of eligibility)
• Completion of an Emergency Medicine Residency Program or Fellowship
• Encouragement for H1B and J1 candidates to apply
• Graduation from an accredited medical or osteopathic medical school
• Possession or eligibility for a State of Iowa physician license, Iowa Controlled Substance Certificate, and Federal DEA Certificate
• All offers are contingent upon successful completion of references, background checks, pre-employment physicals, and drug screenings.
