Emergency Medicine Opportunity

Location: Our organization is a Level III Trauma Center, handling approximately 35,000 patient visits annually.

Facility Overview: We are a comprehensive hospital equipped with a 24/7 Hospitalist program, air medical services, ambulance services, and advanced imaging capabilities including CT and MRI. Each room is stocked with bedside ultrasound and point-of-use supplies.

Coverage: Our facility provides 42 hours of physician coverage each day, supported by a tertiary center with over 300 physicians and specialists. This allows us to keep most patients in-house, with specialties including Trauma Surgery, Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, ENT, Pediatric Hospitalists, OBGYN, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Neurology, Infectious Disease, Orthopedic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Anesthesia, and Radiology.

Transfer Policy: We only transfer patients out when absolutely necessary, allowing you to practice at a single site.

Teaching Opportunities: Engage with residents, medical students, and PA/ARNP students as part of your role.

Compensation and Benefits

Employment Type: This is a hospital-employed position, which includes a comprehensive benefits package valued at over $65,000.

• Base Salary:
  • Day Shift: $471,265/year ($251/hour)
  • Night Shift: $490,116/year ($261.81/hour)
• Extra Shift Bonus: $276.92/hour for day shifts; $301.09/hour for night shifts.
• Recruitment Bonus: $100,000.
• Relocation Assistance: Up to $15,000.
• Work Hours: 1620 hours per year for full-time positions.
• CME Allowance: Annual allowance of $6,000.
• Liability Insurance: Employer-paid liability insurance and tail coverage.
• Health Benefits: Coverage for health, dental, vision, life, and both short-term and long-term disability begins on the first day of employment.
• Retirement Plans: 403(b) retirement plan with employer contributions and matching, along with an optional 457(b) deferred compensation plan.

Qualifications

• Board Certified/Board Eligible (must achieve certification within three years of eligibility).
• Completion of an Emergency Medicine Residency Program or Fellowship is required.
• H1B and J1 visa candidates are encouraged to apply.
• A graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic medical school is necessary.
• Must hold or be eligible for a physician license in the State of Iowa, including an Iowa Controlled Substance Certificate and Federal DEA Certificate.
• All offers are contingent upon successful completion of references, background checks, pre-employment physicals, and drug screenings.
