Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough evaluations of patients recovering from injuries, diseases, or surgeries, understanding their specific needs and mobility challenges.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans using diverse therapeutic methods such as exercises, stretching techniques, hands-on therapy, and advanced rehabilitation equipment.
• Document patient progress meticulously, tracking treatment outcomes, and adjusting goals and techniques as necessary for optimum recovery.
• Provide education and training to patients, their caregivers, and family members on the appropriate use of assistive devices and physical therapy techniques.
• Participate in ongoing professional development by attending workshops, seminars, and maintaining current knowledge through research and networking within the physical therapy community.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This position encompasses working with a diverse range of patients, from children to older adults, with various diagnosis including post-operative rehabilitation, neurological disorders, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. The therapist will focus on enhancing patients' physical function and quality of life, working collaboratively with families to ensure a supportive care environment.

Qualifications

• A Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) is required.
• Valid DPT license in the state of Virginia.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential for articulating treatment plans and progress to patients and healthcare teammates.
• Proficiency in computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
