Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the severity and duration of mood disorder symptoms among clients, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their mental health status.

• Develop tailored treatment plans in collaboration with clients that reflect their individual needs, objectives, and preferences for therapy, with ongoing adjustments based on progress.

• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to guide clients toward improved mental health.

• Provide education and support to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, available treatment options, and effective self-care practices, thereby equipping them with essential coping strategies.

• Regularly monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary to optimize therapeutic outcomes.

• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to integrate care, ensuring a holistic approach to treatment tailored to each client.

• Stay up-to-date on the latest research and developments related to mood disorders, attending training workshops and participating in peer consultations to enhance treatment strategies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The patients you will serve are individuals grappling with various mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. You will have the chance to assist a diverse clientele, including homeless individuals, refugees, and survivors of domestic abuse. This role is pivotal in enabling these vulnerable populations to navigate their challenges and achieve sustainable mental health improvements.

Qualifications\n

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
