Key Responsibilities\n

• Serve as a primary contact for families, establishing proactive communication to foster trust and collaboration.

• Lead individual, family, and group therapy sessions utilizing the Newport Healthcare’s clinical model and the Attachment-Based Family Therapy model, ensuring tailored treatment plans are followed.
\n
• Facilitate Family Orientations and Welcome Presentations for new clients and their families, establishing clear expectations and support networks.
\n
• Document clinical assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, group notes, contact notes, and discharge summaries with precision and within established timeframes.
\n
• Utilize tools such as Word, Outlook, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to accurately input and maintain client data and documentation.
\n
• Attend weekly treatment team meetings and clinical supervision sessions to ensure adherence to best practices and collaboration among team members.
\n
• Participate in training sessions and conferences, representing the Positive Progress Counseling Center as an expert in the field of youth mental health when required.
\n
• Manage your own schedule effectively to meet client needs and clinic goals while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The focus of this position is on supporting adolescents and young adults facing various mental health challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and eating disorders. Your role will involve building strong therapeutic relationships, employing therapeutic techniques that resonate with this age group and contributing to their overall well-being.

Qualifications\n

• A Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field from an accredited or state-approved graduate program.

• Registration as an APCC, LAPC, ASW, AMFT, or a licensed Psychological Associate in New York State.
\n
• Demonstrated experience providing individual, group, or family therapy specifically to adolescents and young adults.

Preferred Experience\n

• Prior work experience in mental health settings with an emphasis on trauma-informed care.

• Familiarity with treatment for mental health issues, substance use disorders, or eating disorders would be advantageous.
