Step into an impactful school-based contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathologist during a maternity leave. This position runs from November 2026 to March 2027, offering the chance to make a tangible difference while collaborating with dedicated educational professionals. Serving one school, you’ll focus on helping young learners realize their communication potential. You’ll also benefit from support provided by an experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) who manages part of the caseload.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license in Speech and Hearing Disabilities (all levels)
- Current or eligible license from the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health
- Certification through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (SLP-CCC)
- Previous work in a school-based speech-language pathology setting, with elementary-aged children
- Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Note: Clinical Fellows (CFs) are not eligible for this role
Essential Responsibilities:
- Deliver assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based intervention for elementary students with speech and language needs
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to support student progress and share strategies
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation in accordance with state and district policies
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, creating and updating individualized plans that promote student growth
- Oversee and partner with the on-site SLPA to ensure effective service delivery
