Staff Accountant

Miller Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and financial operations. Key Responsibilities Perform bank reconciliations for operating, payroll, money market, and Procore pay accounts. Establish and maintain job cost structures including cost codes, work orders, and project setup/closeout. Review and process PCCOs and budget transfers within Procore. Reconcile American Express activity on a weekly basis. Prepare and upload job allocations, auto allowances, and truck allocations in Sage. Manage payroll processes using HH2 and Sage, including timesheet review, payroll processing, and tax submissions. Administer benefits, garnishments, and employee setup in accounting systems. Prepare quarterly payroll filings (941, RT-6) and support year-end processes including W-2 and 940 filings. Additional Responsibilities Include Sending timesheets to PXs for review and ensuring approvals are completed. Processing auto allowances during the first payroll of each month. Uploading payroll direct deposits to banking systems. Preparing allocation worksheets and running monthly allocation reports. Completing employment verifications and unemployment documentation as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2–5+ years of accounting experience; construction experience preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Experience with Sage and Procore preferred. High attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Strong communication and time management abilities.
