Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ mental and emotional health, utilizing standardized tools and techniques to inform treatment planning.

• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, client needs, and evidence-based practices, regularly updating them as necessary to reflect the evolving nature of client progress.

• Engage in therapeutic sessions via video conferencing or telephonic methods, applying various counseling methodologies including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and solution-focused therapy.

• Document client interactions meticulously, maintaining accurate clinical records that include patient medical histories, psychological assessments, treatment interventions, and progress notes.

• Educate clients and their families on mental health challenges, coping strategies, and available community resources to enhance their support systems.

• Collaborate effectively with other multidisciplinary team members including psychologists, social workers, and healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care.

• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation to clients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes, utilizing sound judgment and techniques to navigate sensitive situations.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

As a Mental Health Counselor at Keck Health Care Center, you will work with a diverse client population that includes children, adolescents, adults, and families facing various mental health challenges. Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required.

• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Psychologist in California is mandatory.

• A minimum of one year of direct experience providing counseling services to a diverse client population.
