Bring your expertise in school social work to a meaningful, onsite role supporting elementary students in need of emotional support services. This full-time contract position focuses on grades K-4, providing direct assistance to young learners and collaborating with educators and families. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through early June 2027, offering the chance to build long-term, impactful relationships within the school community.
Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure and certification required for school social work
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students, ideally in an emotional support or similar setting
- Strong skills in crisis intervention, counseling, and building rapport with students and families
- Familiarity with IEP processes, intervention strategies, and collaborative multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- A compassionate and patient approach to supporting diverse student needs
- Ability to work on-site in the school setting during standard academic hours
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling services to K-4 students within the emotional support program
- Assess student needs and develop intervention plans in coordination with teachers, parents, and staff
- Support the implementation of IEP goals and recommended accommodations for assigned students
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, parent conferences, and student progress monitoring
- Promote a positive and inclusive school environment for all learners
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of services provided
- Serve as a liaison between families, community resources, and school personnel
