Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) - 13-Week Contract

Schedule

This position requires 3 shifts per week, each lasting 12 hours, with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend.

Job Description

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality nursing care to patients presenting with a variety of emergency conditions. The RN will be responsible for clinical assessments, administering treatments, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and manage heart rhythm changes (dysrhythmias).
• Care for critically ill patients with multi-organ issues.
• Administer blood products and manage central lines.
• Start and maintain IVs, administer IV sedation and vasopressors.
• Provide care for stroke patients and manage ventilated patients.
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and follow isolation precautions.
• Perform triage as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1.5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years of recent ER experience required.
• Active state nursing license required (NY or compact).
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS.
• No disciplinary issues on nursing license.
