Accounting Manager

Responsibilities 10+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory role, and manufacturing experience Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax compliance, and general ledger activities. Support the Controller in managing monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Perform and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed. Direct collection efforts on delinquent accounts, including negotiations, payment arrangements, and bankruptcy-related matters. Prepare and maintain short- and long-term cash flow forecasts to support business planning and liquidity management. Review and approve employee expense reimbursements, ensuring compliance with company policies and timely processing. Manage vendor payment activities, optimize payment terms, and maximize available discount opportunities. Maintain banking relationships and oversee all banking transactions, reconciliations, and cash management functions. Develop and distribute financial reports and management packages to support operational and strategic decision-making. Calculate, prepare, and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns in accordance with applicable regulations. Coordinate audit preparation activities and serve as a key liaison for external auditors during annual financial audits. Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members through training, coaching, and performance management. Establish, maintain, and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and documented procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, as well as company policies and accounting standards. Monitor changes in accounting regulations and reporting requirements, recommending process updates when necessary.
