Work Environment

The selected Physical Therapist will operate primarily in a home care setting, engaging directly with clients and their families to facilitate therapy sessions in a familiar and comfortable environment. This position fosters a collaborative atmosphere where you will work alongside other healthcare professionals, including nurses and therapists, to integrate care and optimize patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist with Encompass Rehabilitation Center, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Directing physical therapy treatment in accordance with the established plan of care, focusing on preventing disabilities, managing pain, and restoring muscle function.
• Overseeing the work of Physical Therapy Assistants, ensuring they implement care plans effectively and provide appropriate support to clients.
• Conducting thorough evaluations of clients' physical abilities and home environments to identify barriers to independence and provide actionable recommendations.
• Administering manual and non-manual therapeutic exercises, assisting clients with equipment use, and delivering treatments using various physical agents.
• Creating and revising care plans based on ongoing assessments and collaborating with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Documenting all clinical interactions, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in a timely manner, ensuring accurate records for each client.
• Providing education and training to clients and families on therapy techniques and the proper use of assistive devices.
• Engaging in continuous professional development and remaining current with latest best practices and regulatory standards in home care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on adults and seniors who are recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions, or rehabilitating from injuries. Many clients will require tailored interventions to support mobility, safety, and daily living activities. The role demands sensitivity to the individual circumstances of each patient, as you will be the face of our care in their homes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• A valid Physical Therapy license in the state of Virginia, in good standing.
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience, preferably in a home care or acute care setting.
• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with automobile insurance.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with clients, families, and team members.
• A proven ability to navigate and adapt within the diverse environments of home care.

Preferred Experience

Experience in home healthcare or specific training in geriatric therapy is highly advantageous. Familiarity with OASIS documentation and metrics as part of patient evaluations can significantly enhance your candidacy. Leadership skills and a proactive approach to patient care are also desired qualities.

Compensation and Benefits

Encompass Rehabilitation Center offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $110,000 annually, complemented by a robust benefits package that includes healthcare, dental, and vision coverage, a Flexible Spending Account, and a Dependent Care Account with affordable premiums.
