About the Position

Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float

Location

Denver Metro Area (Zone-Based Float), Colorado

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Float Pool

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across multiple Medical Surgical and Telemetry units within a defined geographic float zone covering a 60-mile radius from the Denver city center
• Manage an adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including cardiac, neurological, orthopedic, oncology, renal, urology, general surgery, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine
• Titrate Heparin drips and manage patients on RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP as needed
• Adapt to facility assignments that may be communicated 1–2 hours before shift start under a Just-In-Time scheduling model, or follow a set weekly facility assignment
• Float across acuity levels as needed, including ICU (low-acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele units
• Fulfill weekend shift requirements (6–9 shifts per 6-week schedule) and participate in holiday rotation as requested

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to maintain housing within a feasible distance to float throughout the full 60-mile zone
• Must be physically present in state for the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Flexibility to accept facility assignments via Just-In-Time notification (1–2 hours before shift start)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a neurological nursing setting
• Experience working in a float pool or multi-facility environment
• Familiarity with a broad range of specialty populations including bariatrics, trauma, and rehab
