Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller Houston, TX | Full-Time | On-Site The Role Newly created position as the CFO's right hand. You'll own the accounting function end-to-end: month-end and year-end close, financial statements, reporting package, GL integrity, job cost accounting (WIP, percentage-of-completion, cost-to-complete), cash reporting, and AP/AR oversight with one direct report. You'll also coordinate the year-end review with the external CPA firm and drive process improvements to tighten the close. Direct visibility to the CFO, President, and Operations leadership. What You Bring Bachelor's in Accounting; 6+ years with full ownership of close and financial statements Construction accounting strongly preferred — WIP, % of Completion Underground utility, heavy civil, or specialty contracting background ideal This is a hands‑on doer role with daily CFO mentorship, low bureaucracy, and a clear growth path — the Assistant Controller/Controller titles reflect where it’s headed.
