Since 2013, tens of thousands of professionals across hedge fund, investment banking, management consulting, and law firm verticals have come to rely on Octus to make better, faster, and more confident decisions in pace with the fast-moving credit markets.We are seeking a highly organized self starter with a keen ability to manage multiple information streams and a passion for building efficient and scalable processes.Based in New York, the Editorial Operations Associate will provide critical support for Octus' editorial team of experienced lawyers, financial analysts and journalists. You will report to the Senior Editorial Operations Manager and will monitor coverage, schedule events, maintain databases to support coverage and produce editorial content such as monthly digests, recaps and certain company-specific pieces.ResponsibilitiesManage scheduling and tracking of coverage events for major court casesMaintain databases tracking data about key events and companies in Octus' coverage universeLiaise with court staff, freelancers and other third-party service providersMonitor third-party content related to performing, distressed and high-yield companiesProduce internal and client-facing reports and contentCollaborate with operations and editorial staff to enhance processes and systems that drive contentRequirementsB.A. or B.S. degreeExceptional attention to detail and organizationExcellent written and oral communication skillsExperience in Excel / Google SheetsFamiliarity with SQL a plus, but not requiredGenuine interest in financial news, bankruptcy and credit marketsExperience with financial data and topics a plus, but not requiredEnjoys creative problem-solving and looks to take on new challengesAbility to work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environmentAt Octus, we consider a range of factors in connection with compensation decisions, including experience, skills, location, and our business needs and limitations. As a result, compensation may vary within and across similar roles and positions. Please note that the salary range information below is a good faith estimate for this position and actual compensation for any individual may fall outside this range if warranted by the circumstances applicable to that individual. If we identify a role that would be suitable for a broader range of skills and experience such that we would consider hiring at multiple levels then the range listed below may reflect that breadth.The salary range estimate for this position is $63,000 - $70,000.The actual compensation will be at Octus' sole discretion and will be determined by the aforementioned and other relevant factors.
