Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial assessments by examining patients' physical abilities, reviewing medical history, and consulting with other medical professionals to develop an individualized treatment plan.
• Implement hands-on therapeutic interventions, utilizing appropriate modalities such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise programs, and neuromuscular re-education strategies tailored to each patient's needs.
• Regularly monitor and document patients' progress, making required modifications to treatment plans based on evolving needs to ensure optimal recovery paths.
• Educate patients and their families about injury prevention, home exercises, and treatment protocols to foster engagement and compliance with rehabilitation goals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient outcomes, share insights, and enhance treatment approaches collaboratively.
• Ensure that all documentation related to patient care complies with state regulations, facility policies, and insurance requirements, focusing on thoroughness and accuracy.
• Maintain hands-on competence in the usage and maintenance of specialized rehabilitation equipment while ensuring safety standards are adhered to.
• Follow the guidelines set forth in the State Practice Act to ensure ethical and effective patient care delivery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Orthopedic Physical Therapist at Life and Wellness Services will primarily work with a diverse patient demographic, including individuals recovering from sports injuries, post-operative orthopedic surgeries, and chronic pain conditions. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Therapy from a recognized and accredited program.
• Valid and current Physical Therapist license in the state of Florida.
• Current BLS or HealthCare Provider certification.

• Demonstrable understanding of physical therapy principles, particularly in orthopedic care.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in an orthopedic rehabilitation setting, with a preference for experience in outpatient settings.
