Work Environment

In this onsite position, therapists provide care in the homes of clients in Dulles and surrounding areas. The role entails conducting evaluations and implementing treatment plans in diverse home environments, which may vary significantly. The work setting allows for a high degree of flexibility, enabling therapists to adapt their approaches to the specific needs of each client. Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your responsibilities will include:

• Directing and administering therapy interventions designed to prevent disability, alleviate pain, enhance muscle functionality, and optimize patients' overall performance within their unique capabilities.
• Overseeing Physical Therapy Assistants in executing care plans to ensure adherence to prescribed treatment protocols.
• Conducting comprehensive evaluations of client physical functions, utilizing diagnostic tests related to muscle, nerve, and joint capabilities.
• Assessing the home environment for rehabilitation compatibility and providing recommendations to improve client independence.
• Delivering prescribed physical therapy services in the home directly, as outlined by physician orders.
• Implementing therapeutic exercises both manually and through instruction, while motivating clients to participate actively in their recovery.
• Conducting manual therapies, including traction and massage, as well as administering physical agents in treatments.
• Evaluating and fitting prosthetic and orthotic devices, and collaborating with physicians on necessary modifications.
• Contributing to the continuous development of care plans and participating in case conferences with interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintaining accurate clinical records, including evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring they are submitted timely.
• Advising and supporting clients and their families about therapy needs and device usage.

The clients served in this role include individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, trauma, chronic pain conditions, and mobility impairments. Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates must have:

• A Bachelor's or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current PT licensure in the state of Virginia, with documented evidence of good standing.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience, preferably in home care or acute care settings.
• Current CPR certification and a valid driver's license with automobile insurance.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication and patient engagement.

Preferred Experience
