Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct initial mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, meticulously documenting each case from consultation to treatment conclusion.

• Assess and evaluate clients’ mental, emotional, and behavioral health to formulate tailored intervention plans.
\n
• Develop comprehensive treatment strategies for individuals and families, ensuring that the plans address diverse needs effectively.
\n
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques and strategies to enhance client engagement.
\n
• Continuously monitor and evaluate client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses to synchronize intervention efforts.

• Engage in follow-up communication with referring practitioners regarding clients hospitalized for mental health crises.
\n
• Identify and address any behaviors that may impede clients’ recovery, providing appropriate interventions.
\n
• Support family members and primary caregivers in managing their loved ones’ mental health challenges, enhancing the overall care continuum.

Qualifications\n

• A minimum of a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Illinois.

• A successful score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
\n
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems; familiarity with AVATAR preferred.
\n
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to facilitate effective client interactions and documentation.

Preferred Experience\n

• Previous experience working as a mental health counselor, particularly in a community health setting.
\n
• Experience addressing co-occurring disorders, including addiction and underlying psychological conditions.
\n
• Knowledge of best practices as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
\n
• Familiarity with the psychotropic medications prescribed by medical professionals and understanding their effects on mental health.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients and maintain a compassionate demeanor under pressure.
