Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health and substance use concerns, identifying potential co-occurring disorders and crafting action plans for treatment.

• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, utilizing evidence-based interventions that address both mental health and substance use challenges effectively.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on developing essential coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and emotional regulation techniques to support clients’ recovery journeys.

• Coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring that every client receives integrated and holistic treatment that addresses all aspects of their challenges.

• Engage in motivational interviewing and conduct regular monitoring of substance use to empower clients throughout their recovery process.

• Educate clients and their families about the relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the importance of treatment adherence for successful outcomes.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions, progress, interventions, and referrals, adhering to ethical and legal standards.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will primarily work with clients who demonstrate a complex interplay of mental health issues alongside substance use disorders. Your contributions will be vital in guiding these clients towards sustainable recovery, enabling them to break the cycle of co-occurrence and reclaim their lives.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from a nationally accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW within the state of Florida.
\n
• Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based therapies targeted for co-occurring disorders, such as Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• A robust understanding of the complex interactions between mental health and substance use disorders.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset conducive to working effectively with an interdisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience providing mental health counseling to clients with co-occurring disorders is preferred.
