Senior Litigation Associate – Labor & Employment A respected full-service law firm with a robust litigation practice is seeking a seasoned litigation attorney to join its Southern California team. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with several years of experience handling employment disputes and complex business litigation who is looking for substantial responsibility, direct client engagement, and a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will independently manage a diverse caseload while partnering closely with clients and colleagues on strategic litigation and risk-management initiatives. Strong advocacy, research, drafting, and organizational abilities are critical for success in this role. Key Responsibilities Manage employment and business litigation matters through all phases of the dispute process, including settlement, arbitration, and trial preparation. Defend employers in a broad range of workplace disputes involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage-and-hour claims, and related employment issues. Support and defend complex representative and multi-party employment matters, including class and collective actions. Draft and argue substantive motions, including dispositive motions and procedural applications. Develop discovery strategies, prepare written discovery, and respond to document requests, interrogatories, and admissions. Conduct witness interviews and depositions, including parties, fact witnesses, company representatives, and retained experts. Appear at hearings, mediations, case management conferences, and other proceedings. Perform legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, and client-facing guidance materials. Advise employers on workplace compliance, personnel matters, policy implementation, leave issues, accommodations, and disciplinary decisions. Assist with internal investigations involving workplace complaints, misconduct allegations, and personnel concerns. Participate in trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness preparation, evidentiary motions, and pretrial filings. Desired Qualifications Approximately 4–7 years of litigation experience in employment law, commercial litigation, or related practice areas. Experience representing management-side employers in workplace disputes. Active California bar admission and good standing. Familiarity with litigation practice in both state and federal courts. Exceptional legal writing, analysis, and advocacy skills. Strong research capabilities and experience utilizing legal research platforms. Ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple matters simultaneously. Professional demeanor with excellent client service and communication skills. Highly organized, self-directed, and detail oriented. Demonstrated history of strong performance and professional growth.
