Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms in clients.

• Collaborate with clients to create customized treatment plans tailored to meet their specific needs, aspirations, and circumstances.

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to foster client growth and recovery.

• Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, available treatment options, and effective self-care strategies to enhance their understanding and involvement in the recovery process.

• Monitor client progress with regular check-ins and adapt treatment plans based on evolving needs and objectives.

• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other medical professionals to ensure holistic client care.

• Stay informed about recent research and advancements in mood disorder interventions to continually refine therapy techniques.

• Document all client interactions and treatment activities accurately, maintaining confidentiality in accordance with legal and ethical standards.

• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and ongoing professional development initiatives to share insights and foster a collaborative treatment environment.

• Actively advocate for clients, addressing mental health stigma and working to fulfill their treatment needs and rights.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role primarily focuses on individuals experiencing mood disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. Clients may also include homeless individuals, refugees, or victims of domestic abuse, presenting a diverse range of backgrounds and circumstances. Your ability to connect compassionately and professionally will be essential in helping clients navigate their challenges effectively.

Qualifications\n

• A current and active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

• A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
