Director of Catering Sales & Events - Beechmont Country Club

Beechmont Country Club is a premier 103‑year‑old private club located in suburban Cleveland. As a Troon Private club since 2023, it offers championship golf, racquets, aquatics, dining, and events. The club is currently undergoing a major renovation of its clubhouse and event spaces, with a grand reopening scheduled for spring 2025. Position: Director of Events Position Priorities Drive event sales and expand revenue through proactive outreach and member engagement before, during, and after renovation. Build the brand and position Beechmont as a premier private event venue. Strengthen relationships with members, their families, and outside prospects for events and celebrations. Deliver excellence by ensuring flawless execution of all events in coordination with culinary and operations teams. Responsibilities Develop and execute a forward‑looking sales strategy targeting weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, milestone events, business meetings, and other private functions. Actively solicit business from members and outside leads via direct outreach, networking, referrals, and community presence. Collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage and marketing team to create branded campaigns highlighting the new event spaces. Establish and maintain relationships with event planners, vendors, and businesses to build an external pipeline of events. Engage with members to understand their event needs and promote club space usage. Conduct facility tours highlighting renovation plans and renderings. Manage inquiry follow‑up, proposal writing, space bookings, contract negotiation, and BEO creation. Oversee and mentor the Banquet Manager to ensure seamless delivery and exceptional service. Track key sales metrics and pipeline status; report performance and forecast bookings. Remain visible and accessible at key events, acting as an enthusiastic ambassador. Stay up to date on industry trends and pricing to keep the program competitive and profitable. Qualifications Minimum five years of event sales and management experience, preferably in a private club, luxury hotel, or venue setting. Strong track record of driving revenue and growing event business from internal and external clients. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience building prospect pipelines and using CRM/event management systems (Caterease, Jonas, or similar). Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, service‑focused environment. High energy, polished demeanor, and passion for hospitality and relationship‑building. Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event Management, or related field preferred. What We Offer Very competitive base salary up to $90,000, commensurate with experience.
