The Queer Self Care Mental Therapy Center is actively seeking a compassionate and licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in trauma-focused therapy. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized mental health care to individuals struggling with trauma-related disorders. Work Environment\n

This position is remote, offering you flexibility while being integrally part of our outpatient practice in Grand Prairie, Texas. The work schedule follows a standard approach, with hours from Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., though some flexibility may be required to accommodate patient needs. You will collaborate with a diverse team of mental health professionals, sharing insights and strategies to enhance care delivery while ensuring patients receive comprehensive and individualized treatment.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed evaluations to assess individuals’ trauma histories, guiding the formulation of appropriate treatment plans.

• Design and implement individualized treatment programs that focus on healing trauma and enhancing resilience through evidence-based methods, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
\n
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, fostering an environment where patients can openly process trauma and develop pragmatic coping skills.
\n
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure an integrated approach to patient care, allowing for seamless transitions between therapeutic practices.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention support when necessary, equipping patients with immediate resources during trauma-related emergencies.
\n
• Educate patients and their families about trauma, reactions to trauma, and the resources available for support and recovery.
\n
• Maintain meticulous documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy in patient records.

• Engage in case consultations, team meetings, and continuing education opportunities, staying abreast of the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

You will be working primarily with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, including but not limited to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Our patients are often navigating the intersection of their mental health challenges with their identity and experiences within the LGBTQ+ community. Your expertise will be critical in guiding them toward recovery and resilience.

Qualifications\n

• A master’s or doctoral degree in mental health counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or psychology from an accredited institution.

• A current, valid state license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Psychologist.

• A demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed therapy approaches and the impact of trauma on mental health.
\n
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, crucial for establishing patient rapport and effective teamwork.

Preferred Experience\n

• While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is encouraged, we welcome candidates with varied levels of professional background, especially those who have worked with trauma-focused therapies.

• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with diverse computer applications.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 105,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
