Food Service Worker

The Food Service Worker prepares and serves nutritious meals for school breakfasts and lunches, and maintains a safe and sanitary kitchen. Responsibilities include preparing breakfasts and lunches according to nutrition standards, serving meals in a timely manner, assisting with cleaning, and following federal and state requirements regarding food preparation.

Education: High school degree, GED, or equivalent. Skill Requirements include knowledge of care and use of kitchen equipment, proper sanitation methods, and federal, state, and local policies and procedures. Other skills include oral and written communication, assessing the needs of children, maintaining records, and interacting professionally with community members.

Comet Kids Aide

Under the direction of the Comet Kids Supervisor, engages in lessons, games, and activities with the Comet Kids students to provide a caring and nurturing environment. Essential responsibilities include assisting with activities, monitoring student behavior, accompanying students on outings, engaging in one-to-one and group activities, relaying children's special needs, administering medication, recommending ideas, and supporting emergency policies.

Qualifications include HS Diploma/GED or at least 2 years of child care experience, CPR certification, first aid certification, and AED certification. Working conditions require knowledge of standard office equipment, ability to read and interpret information, compile and maintain accurate records, interpret and apply KCS policies and procedures, and maintain confidentiality with student and staff information.
