Shape the next generation of learners as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time, onsite contract role focuses on supporting middle school students in a dynamic Learning Resource Center environment. Collaborate with two experienced educators to serve grades 6 through 8, nurturing diverse learners and helping them thrive. With a caseload of approximately 40 students, you'll make a meaningful impact while enjoying the support and camaraderie of a dedicated team.
Key Qualifications:
- Possess or be willing to obtain current Washington Special Education Teaching Certification.
- Open to candidates ready to complete OSPI fingerprinting requirements.
- Previous experience working with middle school students in special education, particularly in a resource center or similar setting, is highly valued.
- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively alongside two LRC colleagues.
- Dedication to fostering a supportive, inclusive environment for students with diverse learning needs.
Position Highlights:
- School year runs from September 9, 2026, through June 16, 2027.
- Full-time schedule: 7.5 hours per day with a half-hour unpaid lunch.
- Responsible for managing a caseload of approximately 40 students with individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Develop and implement specialized instructional strategies, monitor student progress, and participate in IEP meetings.
- Deliver instruction, modify curriculum, and provide classroom support in alignment with district and state guidelines.
