Work Environment

Our Charlottesville rehabilitation facility provides a supportive, hands-on clinical environment where therapists work onsite with a diverse patient population. Expect a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week, with some variable weekend hours to meet the needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive examinations and evaluations of patients' physical conditions to determine functional limitations and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers by consulting on patient care and maintaining continuity of care.
• Implement treatment plans and educate patients, families, and caregivers on exercises, techniques, and expectations for recovery.
• Maintain thorough documentation of evaluations, treatment administered, and patient progress in compliance with state regulations and professional standards.
• Engage actively in community outreach activities and promote physical therapy services through marketing and program development efforts.
• Supervise and mentor support staff, including Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and students, ensuring high standards of care and organizational efficiency.
• Participate in staff meetings and engage in continuing education opportunities to sustain and enhance professional competence.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physical Therapist at Strong Bodies, you will work with a varied patient demographic, including adults and seniors recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, neurological conditions, and rehabilitation after accidents. Your interventions will focus on improving mobility, strength, and overall functional capacity, contributing directly to enhanced quality of life for our clients.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program is required.
• Active and valid State License in Physical Therapy is mandatory.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Proficiency in computer skills and word processing is necessary for maintaining documentation standards.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in a rehabilitation or outpatient setting is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
