Patient Engagement Specialist - Remote

What You'll Be Doing - Proactively reaching out to patients and members through phone, text, chat, email, and other digital channels to engage them in healthcare programs, services, and recommended care. - Building rapport quickly across different communication channels, identifying barriers, and using empathy and influence to motivate patients to take action. - Educating patients about gaps in care, preventive services, screenings, medication adherence, and other opportunities to improve their health. - Helping patients navigate healthcare, including scheduling appointments, understanding next steps, and connecting with resources. - Managing both outbound and inbound interactions while adapting your communication style to the patient and the channel. - Using technology and digital tools to communicate, research, document, and manage patient interactions accurately. - Collaborating with other teams to resolve patient needs and improve the patient experience. - Working toward individual and team goals for outreach, engagement, quality, and patient outcomes. What you'll need for success in this exciting opportunity - Experience proactively communicating with customers or patients across multiple channels, including phone, text, chat, email, or other digital platforms.

- The confidence and persistence to initiate outbound conversations, build trust quickly, and keep people engaged across different communication channels. - The ability to influence and encourage others to take action through both verbal and written communication while remaining empathetic and patient-focused. - At least 1 year of experience in healthcare, customer service, a contact center, patient/member services, health insurance, pharmacy, a medical office, or a related environment. - Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt your style, tone, and approach based on the individual and communication channel. - Familiarity with healthcare terminology and how patients navigate areas such as benefits, providers, prescriptions, appointments, or preventive care. - Strong computer and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly learn and work across multiple technologies, systems, and digital communication tools. - The ability to work toward measurable goals, apply feedback, and adapt to changing processes and priorities. - A high school diploma or equivalent. What will really make you stand out - Experience in a healthcare contact center, patient/member services, health insurance, pharmacy, or healthcare navigation. - Experience with high-volume outbound outreach, patient engagement, appointment scheduling, enrollment, retention, or other work requiring influence. - Knowledge of health insurance, preventive care, gaps in care, HEDIS, care management, population health, or value-based care. - Experience with CRM, EHR, call center, AI-enabled, omnichannel communication, or other healthcare technology. - Bilingual language skills or additional healthcare education, training, or certification.
