Company Description At Thrive in Life Therapy, we provide specialized, deeper-level therapy tailored to high-achieving professionals, children, teens, families, and military service members and veterans across California. We help clients step out of survival mode, process root-cause trauma, address attachment wounds, and build sustainable, lasting healing. Our practice is trauma-informed and culturally competent, offering both in-person care at our local office and flexible online therapy. We specialize in EMDR Intensives, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Play/Expressive Therapy, Child & Adolescent Counseling, Relationship Therapy, and Military/Veteran Trauma Support (including TriWest and VA CCN coverage). Role Description The Clinical Therapist role is a full-time or part-time, hybrid position based in Chula Vista, CA. The therapist will provide individual and couples therapy using evidence-based approaches, including trauma-informed care, EMDR, and body-centered techniques where clinically appropriate. Daily responsibilities include conducting intake assessments, developing treatment plans, documenting clinical notes, coordinating care with other members of the multidisciplinary team, and participating in case consultations. The therapist will work closely with clients connected to the military community, addressing concerns such as PTSD, deployment-related stress, relationship challenges, and adjustment difficulties. The role also involves maintaining ethical standards, engaging in ongoing professional development, and contributing to a supportive, collaborative practice culture. Qualifications Background in Social Work and Case Management, with the ability to coordinate services and advocate for client needs. Training or degree in Social Work, Mental Health, with competence in assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment. Experience providing attachment based, individual, couples, and family therapy, particularly for clients navigating military-related stressors, . Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field. Active, unrestricted clinical license in California (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, Psychologist) or license-eligible status. Demonstrated experience working with trauma, EMDR or other trauma-focused modalities preferred. Strong communication skills, cultural humility, and ability to work effectively with individuals and families connected to the military community.
