Billing & AR Specialist

Law firm is seeking a Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist to support its Accounting Department. This role is responsible for attorney billing, electronic billing, collections, and accounts receivable while working closely with attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure timely and accurate billing and payment processing. This is a hybrid position requiring three days onsite per week after onboarding. Responsibilities Prepare, review, edit, and process attorney invoices accurately and on schedule. Manage the billing needs of assigned attorneys while partnering with legal assistants and paralegals. Process high-volume monthly billing, including paper and electronic invoices. Submit and manage invoices through client e-billing portals. Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines and outside counsel requirements. Maintain accurate billing records and client account information. Monitor accounts receivable aging and proactively follow up on outstanding balances. Communicate with clients to resolve billing inquiries, payment discrepancies, and overdue accounts. Research and reconcile short payments, deductions, and chargebacks. Document collection activities and escalate delinquent accounts when appropriate. Assist with financial reporting, audits, and other accounting projects as needed. Qualifications Minimum of 2+ years of legal billing, electronic billing, accounts receivable, or collections experience within a law firm. Hands‑on experience with legal billing software and e‑billing platforms. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Strong knowledge of client billing guidelines and outside counsel billing requirements. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with attorneys, clients, and internal staff. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality in a fast‑paced environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr Law Firm
