As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you'll play an important role in ensuring vendor invoices are processed accurately and on time while supporting our Springfield team.Responsibilities include:Processing a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficientlyMatching invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentationIdentifying pricing, quantity, purchase-order, and invoice discrepanciesWorking directly with vendors and internal departments to investigate and resolve discrepanciesCoding, reviewing, and preparing invoices for paymentVerifying invoice approvals and supporting documentation before processingReconciling vendor statements and resolving outstanding balancesResponding to questions from vendors, branch teams, and internal departmentsResearching missing invoices, credits, duplicate charges, and payment issuesMaintaining accurate vendor and accounts payable recordsAssisting with check runs and payment processingSupporting month-end accounting activities, reconciliations, and internal auditsHandling confidential financial information with professionalismPerforming additional accounts payable duties as neededQualificationsWhat We're Looking For includes:Two or more years of accounts payable or related accounting experience preferredExperience matching purchase orders against invoices requiredExperience processing a high volume of invoicesDemonstrated ability to investigate and resolve vendor discrepanciesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComfortable communicating directly with vendors and internal departmentsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applicationsExperience with accounting or ERP software is a plusAssociate degree in Accounting or Business is a plus, but equivalent experience is welcomeAbility to work full-time, in-office at our Springfield, Virginia locationThis posting provides details on potential compensation ranges and possibilities.
