Lead Software Engineer - AWS/SRE (Deposits)

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least 5 years of applied experience
• Broad, deep AWS expertise across compute, data, networking, security, and observability, including production architecture experience
• Systems-thinking skills, with the ability to assess product-wide trade-offs, failure modes, and dependencies
• Strategic understanding of cost, scalability, automation, reliability, and AI integration as interconnected priorities
• Hands-on ability to validate and prototype technical ideas
• Strong executive communication skills and sound independent judgment in a regulated, high-stakes environment
• Experience managing cloud-hosted production services and leading Live Site Management in complex, business-critical environments
• Strong SRE and observability expertise, including SLI/SLO definition, error budgets, telemetry, distributed tracing, alert design, capacity management, and performance engineering
• Experience leading high-severity incident response, conducting root-cause analysis, and delivering lasting remediation across multiple engineering teams
• Experience creating production-readiness standards, operational controls, runbooks, dashboards, and measurable service-health objectives
• Experience guiding the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and setting standards to validate AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and compliance with resilience and security expectations; ability to coach engineers on safe adoption

• Lead Live Site Management and cloud production operations, including production readiness, change governance, incident response, problem management, and operational risk reduction
• Define and improve SRE practices, including service-level indicators and objectives, error budgets, capacity planning, and reliability engineering
• Improve application and infrastructure observability through logging, metrics, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting, and automated anomaly detection
• Lead major incident response, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and efforts to prevent recurring production issues
• Establish actionable measures for production health, availability, performance, and resilience for engineering and business leaders
• Encourage the team to use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; set validation standards and promote reuse of effective approaches
• Use the software development lifecycle toolchain, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation
• Shape end-to-end AWS architecture strategy across product components and strengthen cloud cost optimization
• Advance resilience strategy, including multi-region architecture, active-active operations, failover and failback, and disaster recovery
• Evolve automation and infrastructure-as-code strategy, and mature AI integration across engineering and product workflows
• Raise shared architectural standards and improve decision-making across teams
• Translate complex technical strategies into clear narratives for leadership
