Tax Manager

Job Description Tax Manager\n USA Remote\n $155k base and equity\n\nOur client, a fast-growing Series C fintech operating in the stablecoin and digital assets space, is hiring a Tax Manager to own and scale its tax function. Reporting into senior accounting leadership, this person will run tax compliance, reporting, planning and audit across federal, state and local jurisdictions, and surface savings opportunities as the business grows.\n\nThe role:\n\nTax compliance & reporting\n\n Own US tax across income, franchise, sales & use, and payroll\n Manage the compliance calendar and keep filings accurate and on time\n Prepare and review quarterly/annual provisions, book-tax differences and footnote disclosures\n Work with external advisors on federal and state consolidated and separate returns, estimates and extensions\n Handle payroll tax end to end - registrations, notices, amendments, year-end reporting and reconciliations\n Manage 1099 filings\n\n\nSales & use tax\n\n Oversee sales & use compliance, filing and payment across all applicable jurisdictions\n Maintain exemption certificates and ensure correct taxability\n Track regulatory change and adapt approach accordingly\n Reconcile monthly filings, payments and journal entries\n\n\nAudit & risk\n\n Act as primary contact for federal, state and local audits and notices\n Manage documentation, auditor requests and settlement negotiations\n Reduce audit risk through better process and proactive compliance\n Run workers' comp audits and 401(k) non-discrimination testing\n Follow and evidence internal controls\n\n\nStrategy & advisory\n\n Track pending US tax legislation and assess business impact\n Research complex issues, write technical memos and present findings\n Build tax-efficient processes and controls\n Partner with finance, payroll, legal and external consultants\n\n\nWhat our client is looking for\n\n Bachelor's or higher in Tax, Accounting or related field\n 5–7 years' corporate tax and/or public accounting experience with progressive responsibility\n Strong ASC 740 and US GAAP knowledge\n Solid grasp of US sales & use tax, nexus rules and taxability\n Comfortable owning provisions, compliance cycles and audit defense\n Strong communicator, highly analytical, organized under deadline pressure\n Proficient in Excel, Google Suite and cloud ERP systems\n US-based\n\n\nNice to have\n\n CPA and/or MST\n Experience in high-growth SaaS, fintech or crypto/digital assets environments\n Genuine interest in blockchain and digital assets\n\n\nWhat's on offer\n\n Fully paid medical, dental and vision\n 401(k) with match\n Equity\n Unlimited PTO\n Learning & development budget\n Remote-first\n\n
