Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of youth and their families, using evidence-based therapeutic practices that foster emotional healing and personal growth.

• Deliver interventions targeting anger management, coping strategies, and social skills development, aimed at decreasing high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) or aggression.

• Empower caregivers in enhancing their decision-making skills to effectively manage behavioral challenges at home, integrating positive behavioral support into daily practices.
\n
• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team and other multidisciplinary professionals to create cohesive support systems for youth and their families.
\n
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, to track advancements and ensure quality care.

• Participate actively in monthly team meetings, providing insights and recommendations that enrich our collective approach to treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This position focuses primarily on engaging with children and adolescents aged 3-20 who are navigating developmental and intellectual disabilities. As a therapist in our clinic, you will work alongside parents and caregivers, understanding their unique challenges and striving to enhance the overall quality of life for these families. Your expertise will directly contribute to promoting healthier emotional states and more positive behavioral outcomes for children in need of support.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a closely related field is required.

• Possession of an active and unrestricted LMFT license within the state of Georgia.
\n
• Comprehensive understanding of therapeutic methods applicable to diverse youth populations, particularly those with developmental disabilities.

• A minimum availability of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 PM), with weekend flexibility being advantageous.

• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle to facilitate in-home visits.
\n
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory for employment.

• Previous work experience with children presenting intellectual and developmental disabilities, which will enhance the quality of therapy provided.
