Who we are looking for:

We seek an operationally strong, commercially minded CFO to serve as a true business partner to the CEO and go-to-market leadership at a pivotal inflection point for MHC. The mandate is broad: leading the next phase of growth for a durable, profitable, PE-backed SaaS business. You will own the full financial engine of the company, including planning, reporting, capital allocation, and value creation, while staying close to how the business runs. You understand the mechanics of recurring revenue and unit economics from the inside, you've been in the room for a real transformation or turnaround rather than a steady-state growth story, and you lead through influence as much as authority. Above all, you bring conviction and a long-term commitment to building MHC's next chapter.

What you'll get to do:

• Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and leadership team, translating complex financial and operational issues into terms non-finance stakeholders can act on, and debating the business, not only the budget.
• Own the full finance function (FP&A, accounting and controllership, treasury, and corporate development), building it into a rigorous, disciplined engine that scales with the business.
• Lead the annual planning, forecasting, and value-creation process in partnership with the CEO, the board, and PE ownership, with fluency in PE reporting rhythms, board dynamics, and value-creation planning.
• Partner closely with sales and marketing leadership on pricing, go-to-market economics, pipeline health, and growth investment tradeoffs, acting as an ally who helps GTM leaders win, not a gatekeeper who slows them down.
• Sit close to commercial discussions, contract negotiations, and deal desk activity, bringing financial discipline to how deals are shaped and closed.
• Manage financials, performance, and budgeting at the unit level across a multi-product portfolio, driving product-line and customer-segment growth and profitability with the modeling discipline to make those views actionable.
• Help reset cost structure, re-underwrite the plan, or reposition the business where needed, driving transformation, not just administering a plan that already works.
• Lead M&A across the full deal lifecycle: financial and business due diligence, deal structuring, and post-close integration, including how the operating model changes after close.
• Own the capital structure, cash management, and investment discipline required to fund growth while protecting the profitability that makes MHC a durable platform.
• Build, develop, and retain a high-performing finance team, investing in people rather than just managing headcount, and serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, contributing to company-wide strategy.
• Act as a cultural ambassador for MHC's purpose, leading extensively through influence and bringing energy that lifts the people around them.

What you'll bring to succeed:

• Proven Finance Leader in PE-Backed SaaS
  • Finance leadership inside a $25M-$100M SaaS company under private equity ownership, with fluency in PE reporting rhythms, board dynamics, and value-creation planning.
  • A track record of tenure and commitment: a pattern of 5+ year runs, not a resume built on short stints.
  • A pattern of internal progression within a single company (e.g., moving from a regional or business-unit finance leadership role into the CFO seat), evidence of earned trust and staying power.
  • Deep, hands-on experience managing financials, performance, and budgeting at the unit level across a multi-product portfolio: product-line and customer-segment growth and profitability, with the modeling discipline to make those views actionable.
• Transformation, Turnaround, and M&A Experience
  • Direct experience in a transformation or turnaround situation, having helped reset a cost structure, re-underwrite a plan, or reposition a business.
  • M&A experience spanning both sides of the deal lifecycle: financial and business due diligence and post-close integration, including how the operating model changes after close.
  • Pattern recognition from having lived through this stage of company before: what breaks as a SaaS business scales past $50-100M under PE ownership, what a real turnaround requires operationally and culturally, and how to integrate an acquisition without losing momentum.
• Commercial and Growth Orientation
  • A genuine commercial and growth orientation, having partnered closely with sales and marketing leadership on pricing, go-to-market economics, pipeline health, and growth investment tradeoffs.
  • Excited about being very close to commercial discussions, contract negotiations, and deal desk activities; used to working with and for sales, not against them.
  • Fluent in the mechanics of recurring revenue and unit economics from the inside, not just as reporting outputs, but as levers of the business.
• Technical Foundation and Judgment
  • A technical foundation earned either in public accounting/audit or through several years of FP&A and forecasting rigor at a single company, followed by broader financial leadership responsibility, pairing credibility on the numbers with real commercial judgment.
• Leadership Style and Orientation
  • Operational by instinct: wants to be close to how the business runs, not just close to the ledger.
  • Direct, grounded, and low-ego, bringing rigor without bureaucracy.
  • Genuinely motivated by building and leading teams; invests in developing people, not just managing headcount.
  • Leads extensively through influence rather than authority and buys into MHC's purpose enough to act as a cultural ambassador for it.
  • Enthusiastic and motivating, bringing energy that lifts the people around them, not just analytical horsepower.
• Preferred / Ideal Experience
  • Direct exposure to the Customer Communications Management (CCM), document automation, or adjacent enterprise / content management software space is a strong plus.
  • Experience serving enterprise and mid-market B2B SaaS customers in regulated industries (financial services, insurance, healthcare, government).

Worksite Location: This is a remote role with frequent travel to MHC corporate office, as needed. Candidates must be based in the United States.
