Senior Commercial Counsel Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior Commercial Counsel to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Transaction support for other departments as required;
- Provide legal and strategic business advice to ensure agreements are consistent with internal corporate policies and processes;
- Work with Procurement to address transition of supplier agreements;
- Work with Sales Ops on integration of sales processes into Atlassian deal desk and contract management systems;
- Trusted advisor and business partner across the company by providing counsel and guidance for accomplishing Zoom’s overall business objectives;
- Deliver trainings to sales reps and channel teams on Atlassian’s form agreements, deal mechanics, and other legal issues;
- Lead Commercial due diligence, with help from outside counsel;
- Work with the broader Commercial and Privacy teams on terms of service, data protection addendum, and privacy statement migrations;
- Own all Commercial aspects of post-closing integration;
- Help to evolve Atlassian’s integration strategy and influence change within the company;
- Draft, negotiate and advise our global business teams on a variety of commercial agreements;
- Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes;
- Help to evolve Atlassian’s integration strategy and influence change within the company;
- Oversee all legal aspects of customer contracting, including streamlining the contracting process and managing related systems integrations;
- Collaborate with the legal team on special projects across a spectrum of complex business, legal, and strategic issues.
Requirements:
- Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow-through on numerous projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment;
- Demonstrated ability to provide the highest level of legal work-product;
- Possesses excellent and persuasive writing skills;
- Ability to give succinct, commercially driven legal advice;
- Ability to provide thought leadership on strategic matters as well as execute on tactical operational details;
- Ability to work quickly and competently to prioritize, manage, and multi-task in a fast-pace working environment;
- Admission to one state bar, preferably California;
- Can execute under pressure and within tight timelines, with tremendous attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership;
- In-house Legal experience a plus;
- Quickly grasps business objectives and applies them to legal strategies in a way that is pragmatic, flexible, and creative;
- Is excited to continually improve processes and drive operational excellence within an environment that is fast-paced, complex, and fluid;
- Minimum of 8 years of commercial transactions in a fast-paced environment, including substantial M&A exposure;
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school;
- A minimum of 10 years of legal experience;
- Minimum of 8 years of commercial transactions in a fast-paced environment, including substantial M&A exposure.
