Mid-Level Electrical Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Manages budget, scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated work assignment with minimal guidance and technical oversight;
- Prepares design studies, project scopes and engineering estimates;
- Devises new approaches to technical problems. Broad knowledge of precedents in the industry;
- Understand roles played by other disciplines on the project and is able to coordinate and interface with other engineering disciplines;
- Willing to travel and participate in field installation, checkout, and start-up;
- Prepares electrical equipment procurement and installation specifications and can evaluate technical bids and select equipment;
- Exercises independent professional judgment not subject to close review;
- Perform load calculations, detailed conduit routing, motor control center and switchgear design, and specification generation;
- Coordinates site activities with contractors, subcontractors, agency personnel and client representatives;
- Capable of providing an effective Quality Assurance / Quality Control role in his/her technical discipline;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Effective at representing the firm in verbal presentations to clients;
- Understands, applies and oversees safety requirements in the field;
- Works directly with senior-level personnel in interpreting the actual needs of individual clients;
- Maintains a high level of communications skill, with emphasis on the preparation of clear and concise written reports.
Requirements:
- Minimum 6 years’ experience;
- Proficient in Word and Excel;
- Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams;
- Makes recommendations based on knowledge and experience;
- Good writing, presentation, and communication skills;
- Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of electrical calculations is desired;
- Bachelors of Science Degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university;
- Experience with Electrical analysis software such as ETAP or SKM is preferred;
- AutoCAD experience;
- Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others;
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills;
- PE License;
- Proficiency with MS Office applications;
- 3 or more years experience in the design of substations 138kV and above;
- Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting.
