Our company is looking for a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages budget, scope, schedule, and quality associated with the designated work assignment with minimal guidance and technical oversight;
  • Prepares design studies, project scopes and engineering estimates;
  • Devises new approaches to technical problems. Broad knowledge of precedents in the industry;
  • Understand roles played by other disciplines on the project and is able to coordinate and interface with other engineering disciplines;
  • Willing to travel and participate in field installation, checkout, and start-up;
  • Prepares electrical equipment procurement and installation specifications and can evaluate technical bids and select equipment;
  • Exercises independent professional judgment not subject to close review;
  • Perform load calculations, detailed conduit routing, motor control center and switchgear design, and specification generation;
  • Coordinates site activities with contractors, subcontractors, agency personnel and client representatives;
  • Capable of providing an effective Quality Assurance / Quality Control role in his/her technical discipline;
  • Other duties as assigned;
  • Effective at representing the firm in verbal presentations to clients;
  • Understands, applies and oversees safety requirements in the field;
  • Works directly with senior-level personnel in interpreting the actual needs of individual clients;
  • Maintains a high level of communications skill, with emphasis on the preparation of clear and concise written reports.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience;
  • Proficient in Word and Excel;
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams;
  • Makes recommendations based on knowledge and experience;
  • Good writing, presentation, and communication skills;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of electrical calculations is desired;
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university;
  • Experience with Electrical analysis software such as ETAP or SKM is preferred;
  • AutoCAD experience;
  • Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others;
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills;
  • PE License;
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications;
  • 3 or more years experience in the design of substations 138kV and above;
  • Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting.
