Our company is looking for a Director of Catering and Conference Services to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Performs any other duties assigned by management;
- Anticipates needs, forecasts results, and analyzes work processes for personnel in the department;
- Manages department payroll on a weekly basis;
- Responsible for all administrative duties which are necessary in the functioning of the department;
- Responsible for accurately forecasting revenues on a monthly basis;
- Responsible for the department’s service scores, as measured by meeting planner surveys;
- Ensures that all departments meet all federal, state and local regulations affecting the hotel, Food & Beverage operation, its associates and guests;
- Provides the necessary training, motivation, and leadership for all department personnel;
- Tours, on a daily basis, the hotel function space and spot checks meeting room setups;
- Ensures that all equipment used in the department is in good order, and uses preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment;
- Creates and maintains a good working relationship with the Banquet team to ensure an elite level of client services;
- Attends revenue, BEO, pickup and resume meetings;
- Maintains rapport with outside purveyors, who provide services for the hotel and its guests through the Catering & Conference Services Department;
- Reviews, on a daily basis, client feedback and takes appropriate follow up actions;
- Conducts weekly department meetings.
Requirements:
- Must have highly developed customer service skills with strong attention to detail;
- Must have the ability to delegate, effectively train and coach a team with diverse talents;
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays;
- Must have proven selling, negotiating and presentation skills;
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred;
- Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Delphi experience preferred;
- 5+ years of upscale hotel catering and/or conference services experience required;
- 3+ years of department head experience in an upscale hotel required.
