Our company is looking for a Director of Contracts to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake special assignments as required and perform others duties as assigned;
  • Negotiate and administer contracts with managed care payers;
  • Oversee all programmatic aspects, contracts, and dedicated staff of Horticulture Therapy contract services;
  • Cultivate and steward relationships with existing and emerging program, donor, and community partners;
  • Responsible for planning, evaluating, and implementing various managed care programs;
  • Represents contracting as internal subject matter expert on other projects as needed;
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and policies;
  • Support the operations director in other areas as needed;
  • Reviews provider performance reports from health plans and develops action plan to remedy outliers;
  • Guide budget creation for VeggieRx and related/special contracts and support budget tracking and communication;
  • Answer questions from providers and provider office staffs on contracting issues as needed;
  • Oversee all programmatic aspects, contracts, and dedicated staff of VeggieRx and related farms/health centers;
  • Represent the Chicago Botanic Garden in the media, at national and international conferences, and on local service boards;
  • Participate in Garden-wide strategic planning initiatives as requested;
  • Build relationships with payer network managers and representatives for the market.

Requirements:

  • Work with business development and program departments to support current and future business needs;
  • Ability to clarify questions and resolve potential issues with stakeholders;
  • Team player with ability to multitask and work in fast-paced environment;
  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Working knowledge of various contract types (e.g., T&M, FFP, and Cost Plus);
  • Serve as advisor and make recommendations as needed on contractual, proposal and business matters;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite is required;
  • Strong self-motivation and stellar work ethic;
  • Coordinate all essential activity with legal Counsel;
  • Provide knowledge of applicable government regulations in the execution of business activity;
  • Master’s degree preferred (but may substitute additional experience);
  • Contract negotiation experience for health plan, hospital or physician group;
  • Some travel is required (up to 30%);
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
