Associate Mechanical Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Learn to perform and document simple mechanical calculations so they can be easily checked;
- Learn the basics of performing hydraulic calculations for compressible and incompressible fluids;
- Become familiar with project budgets, schedules, typical project deliverables, and work scopes;
- Learn how to develop estimation packages and develop simple equipment data sheets;
- Assist with analysis, design, production of detailed construction drawings for clients, and prepare mechanical scope of works;
- Become familiar with design codes, industry and client standards and established design criteria;
- Support development of manufacturing plans to execute program requirements;
- Assist in design and preparation of engineering documentation for clients and assist in preparation of equipment specifications for equipment purchase;
- Support production and test efforts of various programs at Space Park;
- Support development of non-flight hardware and/or test plans to execute program requi rements;
- Learn to develop demolition P&IDs based on project P&IDs, and assist in P&ID walk-down efforts or field verification;
- All other duties as assigned;

- Learn to check basic P&ID’s modifications against CAD drafting standards and client standards.
Requirements:
- Must keep a clean and neat work environment;
- 0-2 Years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer;
- Ability to receive direction from department manager and/or discipline lead and incorporate instruction into completing tasks;
- Good verbal and written communication skills;
- Personable and able to work easily with others at all levels;
- Ability to think critically and logically, recommend solutions to problems that may occur;
- Ability to set and track goals;
- Able to commit to and meet project deadlines, and driven to provide outstanding service to both external and internal customers;
- Extroverted personality;
- Comfortable working in a team environment and maintain a positive and professional relationships with co-workers and management;
- Able to initiate and follow through on assignments with little coaching;
- Comfortable approaching a mentor with technical or business related questions;
